BLOG AJ Page: A Quick Way to Feel More Confident
Art Journal Page
A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. – Maya Angelou
Time and again in my coaching practice I have seen people bloom before my eyes as they create something they didn’t think they were capable of. So I hope you have a go at this easy Art Journal page – you might just prove something to yourself!
Here’s how I made the Art Journal page:
- Start with a piece of white card
- Use Distress Inks and mini ink blending tools to make the background
- I used Squeezed Lemonade first, over a stencil – you can use any stencil you like, I used two different floral ones – just do small patches here and there, easing up on the pressure near the edges of the chosen areas so that they will blend together
- then I added Worn Lipstick and Ripe Persimmon overlapping each one slightly
- I stamped the bird with Archival Jet Black, and then used the same ink to add the words
- Finally, I used edges of the bird stamp to three of the edges to create movement and a border
- Then I added two die cut cardboard flowers to finish it off.
I would love to see your versions of this page – please feel free to email them to me!
